Peace and Reflection: A Winter Solstice Tarot Spread

Winter is full of cold and darkness. As the days grow shorter and the nights longer, nature around us slows down and retreats into itself, preparing for the inevitable rebirth of spring. In this blog post, I share my Winter Solstice Tarot Spread to help you connect to the seasonal changes during this time of year.

Unfortunately, our world requires us to continue the same routine even though nature is slowing down. We must wake up at the same time each morning, usually well before the Sun rises. We must go to work and maintain the same level of productivity. Nature wants us to slow down and rest but modern society doesn’t allow for it.

But amidst our busy lives, I urge you to find small moments of peace and comfort to add to your routine each week. Embrace the cold and step out into nature, allowing yourself to bask in the much-needed sunlight.

And for me, one of the best ways to connect with the changing seasons is through a tarot spread inspired by the themes of winter. I created the following tarot spread based on darkness, death, community, and hope.

Peace and Reflection: A Winter Solstice Tarot Spread

Darkness

Embrace the darkness, for it allows us to reflect and go inward. Take this time to contemplate what is working and what needs to change in your life.

Death

Death is a natural part of life, and winter reminds us of this as we witness the withering of plants around us. Use this season as an opportunity for transformation, letting go of what no longer serves you. Take this time to contemplate what is working and what needs to change in your life.

Community

Winter brings with it harsh weather and a sense of isolation But even as we go through these struggles, it’s important to remember the power of community. Together, we can weather the challenges of this season and emerge stronger on the other side. We need community now more than ever to get us through the physical and mental challenges that come with the Winter season.

Hope

Thankfully, Winter is just a season and we know that it will end. In just a few months the Sun will rise earlier and the world with warm up. We get through the winter with the hope of a return to light and everything will be reborn. So take in the beauty of this season and trust in the cycle of life and death that brings us back to the light.
